Dedicated to the memory of the greatest comedian that ever lived: George Denis Patrick Carlin (May 12, 1937 - June 22, 2008)

A digital painting of comedian George Carlin, my very favorite comedian. This piece was completed before his death, and was actually featured as the avatar for one of his fan-MySpace sites for a short time. I had always hoped to see him live (Atlantic City is not too far from me, and he often performed there), but, alas, I waited too long. He will be sorely missed. Thank you all for your favorites adds and comments.

That's the cranky ol' man all right. Looks like he's in the middle of telling us "what else is wrong with people today!" VERY nice job! You may be onto something. What did you use for media? I'm seeking to try AI (Adobe Illustrator CS3) to spiff up my own artwork (hoping to upload some soon). Sounds like fun.
Again, excellent job. I knew in a heartbeat who it was. No guesswork.

Yes, he's easily my favorite commedian. Though it's hard for me to choose which bit I like best. I only hope I can catch him live one of these days.

Thank you. Actually there are a small few of him out there. This piece was actually featured on the George Carlin (fan) MySpace for about a month as his avatar, and its still there now in the Pics section. George Carlin is my favorite commedian (I'd say Dave Chapelle and Lewis Black are in the top five as well), so I was happy to finally do a portrait of him. Of course, I went with a bit of a younger Carlin than he is today, but still, I really think it came out great. This is one of my most popular pieces here on devART right now, so I'm glad you like it too.
